Legendary Caribbean cruise
Travel to the best destinations in the Caribbean on Pullmantur's Legendary Caribbean cruise
Panama, Colombia, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island and Costa Rica are the Caribbean countries you'll visit aboard Pullmantur's Legendary Caribbean Cruise. In this way, as you cruise through the Caribbean Sea aboard this Pullmantur cruise, you will drop in on many of the enclaves discovered by Cristopher Columbus and explore fascinating destinations like Puerto Limón, Ocho Ríos and Cartagena de Indies.
The duration of this Pullmantur cruise can vary from 8 to 9 days, depending on the itinerary you choose. Whichever the trajectory, you will always begin and end your voyage in the same place: either the Panamanian port of Colón or the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias. Two, shorter trajectories exist. In the first, you travel to Colón, Cartagena de Indias, Montego Bay, Grand Cayman Island and Puerto Limon. The second follows the same route of Caribbean destinations, but skips Grand Cayman, instead going to Ocho Rios (Jamaica). Meanwhile, Pullmantur's 9-day Legendary Caribbean cruise docs at all the previously mentioned countries and ports.
One way or another, Pullmantur's Legendary Caribbean cruise takes you all the major Caribbean monuments and landscapes, including the Walled City of Cartagena de Indias, the Panama Canal, the waterfalls of Somerset Falls in Montego Bay and Puerto Limón Casa de Cultura.
Cartagena de Indias, cornerstone of tourism in the Caribbean
Pullmantur's Legendary Caribbean cruise first ports of call are Colón and Cartagena de Indias. While in the first city, visit the Fort of San Lorenzo, one of the oldest castles in America, and the beaches of Langosta and Palenque. The Panama Canal, whose eastern entrance is located a few kilometres from Colón, is also worth seeing.
Situated on the north coast of Colombia, the city of Cartagena de Indias is a tourist paradise. The jewel of its crown is its iconic Walled City, a defensive complex declared to be a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Within the Walled City one finds many of Colombia's most important monuments, including the colonial houses that make up the Plaza de los Coches, the Church and the Convent of San Pedro Claver (a wonder of Colombian colonial architecture), the House of the Marquis of the Premio Real, and the old Custom's House.
On our forth day of travel, Pullmantur's Legendary Caribbean cruise arrives at either Montego Bay or Ocho Rios, both of which are Jamaica's top destinations. The main attractions in Montego Bay are the spectacular landscapes, Doctor's Cave Beach and Half Moon Beach. But, of course, Montego Bay's best-known landmark are the waterfalls in Somerset Falls, where thrill seekers tend to dive.

Take in the unique architecture of Puerto Limón
Should Pullmantur's Legendary Caribbean cruise take you to Ocho Rios, make sure to soak up the beautiful landscapes. The most outstanding are found at Dunn River Falls, the Blue Mountains, the YS Falls and the Montego Bay Marine Park. In addition to natural wonders, Ocho Rios boasts sites like Croydon Plantation, Rose Hall and the Good Hope Estate. The second of them is home to a unique mansion, an outstanding example of Jamaica's Georgian architecture.
After Ocho Rios and / or Montego Bay, your ship will dock at Grand Cayman Island or in Puerto Limon. When traveling to Grand Cayman, the most important of the three Cayman Islands, take the time to admire the many monuments found within George Town, the capital of the archipelago. The mansion and museum of Peter St. James, where slavery was abolished within the region, is especially important, but St. James's Castle and Queen Elisabeth II Botanical Park are also worth seeing.
Once this Pullmantur cruise arrives in Puerto Limon, you can stroll and relax on the beaches of Playa Bonita, Playa Negra, Guesthouse or Westfalia. Further inland, one of the most visited sites in Costa Rica is Tortuguero National Park, famous for its tropical forests and the 52 species of freshwater fish that inhabit its waters. Puerto Limón also boasts important monuments, amongst them the Post Office building, the Black Star Line restaurant or the National Bank. Undoubtedly, all of them will make you understand why this city is considered one of the most unique destinations in Costa Rica.
